Enrollment at Greenville ISD schools increased by 1.8% compared to previous school year

There were 5,422 students enrolled in Greenville ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 1.8% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 52.3% of them were boys, and 47.7% were girls.

The most represented ethnicity among Greenville ISD students was Hispanic, accounting for 49.2% of the student population.

Greenville ISD roughly covers schools within Hunt County with its main office in Greenville.

Among the 11 schools in Greenville ISD, Greenville High School recorded the highest enrollment of 1,480 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
