Commerce ISD welcomed 1,517 students in 2022-23 school year

There were 1,517 students enrolled in Commerce ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 5.2% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 50.9% of them were girls, and 49.1% were boys.

The most represented ethnicity among Commerce ISD students was white, accounting for 41.9% of the student population.

Commerce ISD roughly covers schools within Hunt County with its main office in Commerce.

Among the four schools in Commerce ISD, Commerce High School recorded the highest enrollment of 465 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Texas is found to be one of the least-educated states in the U.S. A study from WalletHub ranked Texas 41st out of 50 states in terms of the quality of the educational system and how successful students were.

More than 5.4 million students are enrolled in public schools across Texas. Nearly one million of them live in rural areas where options for local public schools are few and far between.
