Members of CFD Receive Life-Saving Award

Members of the Crowley Fire Department A-Shift, Lt. Wissel, Firefighter/Paramedic Garrett, Firefighter/Paramedic Parr and Firefighter/Paramedic Constantine were presented a Life-Saving Award at Crowley City Council meeting last Thursday for their efforts in assisting a gentleman in September.

After arriving on scene with Truck 254, Medic 54 recognized the immediate need for a rapid transport due to the critical condition of the patient, and were on scene for only eight minutes before departing to the hospital. En route to the hospital, Mr. Bond went into cardiac arrest.

Due to the immediate actions of Medic 54, after just over 10 minutes of providing aggressive Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support interventions (in the back of a moving ambulance), the patient regained a pulse and is now back home recovering.

To make it even more meaningful, Mr. Bond is a retired Captain from the Dallas Fire Department where he spent over 30 years serving.
