Tonight at 7 PM, Lt. Rev. Curtis Jefferson was recently honored with the Earl King Award by the Christian Men's Fellowship (CMF) of Parker County at their monthly meeting on Monday. Jefferson is the founding pastor of New Hope Baptist Church, which he led for 35 years until his retirement in 2022.

The Earl King Award is named after CMF’s founder and honors a Parker County man for exhibiting Christian leadership over a significant length of time. Rev. Jefferson is the second recipient of this award.

CMF President Lin Bearden stated, “Earl’s vision when he started CMF many years ago was that it would be a local group of men in business whose sole purpose was to encourage each other to spiritually lead their families, share the Gospel, and make our community a loving, caring place. Curtis certainly exemplifies that ideal through his testimony in Weatherford and in the workplace.”

Rev. Jefferson has been very involved in his community, serving on various boards including the Parker Baptist Association and Weatherford College Foundation among others. His son Doug Jefferson accepted the award on his behalf as Rev. Jefferson could not attend Monday’s meeting.
