Today, we launch a new campaign, Public Works Wednesday!

Each week we will spotlight a public works employee and tell you about their job and why public works are so vital to the health and safety of Willow Park.

Today, we begin with Nathan W.

Nathan is a native of Georgetown and lives in Weatherford with his dog, Panda. He a has four-year-old son and spends most of his “off hours” with him. However, Nathan doesn’t have a lot of off hours, as he is one of the men who monitors our SCADA system.

The SCADA system is the network that tracks water supply levels throughout the city, including the wells and the storage tanks. Nathan helps keep the system running smoothly and watches for any adjustments that may need to happen to ensure consistent distribution.

When you turn on your water tap and water comes out, you can thank Nathan and the other guys in our public works department.

Nathan also monitors water disinfection, investigates leaks, and works with water customers who may have an issue with their water distribution. He holds a Class C certification in both groundwater and sewer.

His favorite thing about his job is the variety of tasks he performs and how every day is something new and interesting.

Thank you for your hard work with our water, Nathan! We appreciate you!
