How Aledo customers and the City can smartly manage water usage
It’s a simple fact that outdoor water usage can account for 50% or more of customers’ water bills, even in just a normal summer, but especially in an exceptionally hot, dry year (like this one!).
That’s why it’s important that all Aledo residents and businesses do everything possible to limit landscaping irrigation, pool filling, car washes and other high consumption activities.
Please also be mindful of the City’s prohibition on outdoor watering between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. to reduce water loss to evaporation, and the twice-a-week maximum watering schedule following the City’s Water Conservation Plan.

The City itself also needs to lead by example and be a smart water user. If you see watering outside of the prescribed scheduled watering days or hours, or if you notice wasted water (broken sprinkler heads, watering of cement, etc.) on a City property, please call and let us know!
