SUBJECT: Water Conservation
It has come to our attention that water usages by our clients have been extremely high in June and July. Every entity has set new daily record water usages. Accordingly, I am recommending that the City of Caddo Mills consider implementing voluntary water conservation measures. Fortunately, the City has been able to keep up with water demands thus far but as the extreme water usage puts a strain on water supply, pumps, electrical components, and pipelines; it is getting more likely that failures could occur.
I am hopeful that if everyone will voluntarily conserve water during this extreme heat wave, mandatory water use restrictions will not have to be implemented by City officials.
The voluntary reduction in water usage will save on water usage and water bills, and help give the pumps, equipment and personnel a minimal breather. The reduction in water usage will also help to keep water in the tanks so that in case of a fire, there will be adequate quantities of water to help fight a fire.
