Granbury ISD will be offering a COVID-19 Rapid Testing Program for students and staff during the second semester in January 2021.

“In GISD, we are committed to doing all we can to keep staff and students healthy and safe,” Superintendent Dr. Jeremy Glenn said. “This statewide program will allow GISD to test symptomatic individuals and reduce the risk to our school community.”

The BinaxNOW tests used by the program will be able to provide results in 15 minutes and have been shown to be highly accurate, with accuracy rates of 97-98% for symptomatic individuals.

Participation is optional for both GISD students and employees, and parents or guardians must submit a signed permission form allowing school nurses to administer the test to students.

The number of positive tests per school will also be shared with the Texas Department of State Health Services.
