In the latest update from Texas, the 4th Special Session has come to a close with the Texas Senate successfully passing every item on Governor Abbott's agenda. The session saw the passage of five important bills that address various issues in the state.

One of the key bills, SB 1, introduces the Educational Savings Account (ESA) program, which allows parents to explore alternative educational avenues for their children. Senator Angela Paxton, who sponsored the bill, emphasized that "every child deserves a chance to thrive in an environment that is best for them."

Another significant bill, SB 2, focuses on increasing teacher pay and education funding. It includes across-the-board teacher raises and adds $317 million to teacher incentives, making it the largest public education investment in Texas history.

The Senate also passed SB 3 and SB 4, which aim to strengthen border security measures. SB 3 allocates $1.5 billion for the construction of a border wall and other enforcement measures to compensate for the federal government's lack of action. SB 4 makes it more difficult for those in Texas illegally to stay in the state.

To ensure school safety, the Senate passed SB 5, which will provide an additional $800 million in funding for school districts to implement safety measures, including the hiring of armed security officers on campuses.

Aside from the Special Session, Senator Paxton recently met with Mineral Wells Mayor Regan Johnson and other officials to discuss an important water project in Palo Pinto County. The project, known as the Turkey Peak Reservoir, aims to address critical water shortages in the area. Senator Paxton expressed her support for the project, stating that "these are the kinds of projects needed to ensure water supply for future growth."

In a significant development, Senator Paxton received the endorsement of Governor Greg Abbott. Expressing her gratitude, she acknowledged their partnership on various issues critical to Senate District 10, such as border security and property tax reduction. As a former police officer, Senator Paxton particularly appreciated Governor Abbott's unwavering support for law enforcement.

Senator Paxton also attended the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) States & Nation Policy Summit in Arizona, where conservative legislators, policy experts, and stakeholders gathered to discuss public policy implementation. The summit addressed topics such as empowering parents through universal education freedom and reducing the influence of the Chinese government. Notable speakers included Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, Arizona Governor Doug Ducey, and economist Dr. Art Laffer.

As the National Chair of ALEC, Senator Paxton remains dedicated to the principles of limited government, free markets, and federalism. Her active involvement in ALEC reflects her commitment to serving her constituents and advancing conservative policies.

With the conclusion of the 4th Special Session, Texas has made significant progress on important issues. The passage of key bills, support for crucial water projects, and the endorsement from Governor Abbott demonstrate Senator Angela Paxton's dedication to serving the people of Texas and working towards a better future for the state.
