There were 1,442 students enrolled in Commerce ISD schools in the 2021-22 school year, 1.4% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2021-22 school year, 52.1% of them were girls, and 47.9% were boys.

The most represented ethnicity among Commerce ISD students was white, accounting for 44% of the student population.

Commerce ISD roughly covers schools within Hunt County with its main office in Commerce.

Among the four schools in Commerce ISD, Commerce High School recorded the highest enrollment of 447 students in the 2021-22 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
