The City of Caddo Mills is opposed to the creation of Hunt County Municipal Utility District (MUD) No 5.

HMH Caddo Mills Land, LP is seeking the creation of the MUD, which would be located within the City’s ETJ along FM 1565 and CR 2628. The City has entered its appearance in the proceedings with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) to officially oppose the creation of the MUD and to seek a contested hearing at the TCEQ due to the negative effects of the MUD. We will continue to take action to fervently oppose the creation of the MUD.

In addition, the City intends to file comments and request a hearing in opposition of HMH Caddo Mills Land, LP’s application for a wastewater discharge permit for the MUD to discharge an average of 250,000 gallons per day of wastewater effluent into a tributary of Brushy Creek.
