GREENVILLE: On January 19, 2023, at approximately 6:30 a.m. the Greenville Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at 1207 Wesley Street. Upon arrival, fire crews found heavy fire and smoke conditions emanating from the roof and front of the structure. In addition, an 86-year-old male patient was removed from the structure prior to Fire Department’s arrival. The patient was transported to the hospital with major burns; injuries to which he later succumbed. The fire is still under investigation by the Greenville Fire Marshall but there is no suspicion of foul play at this time.
