Converse, Texas— August 26, 2022 — The City Council of Converse has selected Ronnie Guest, Jr., of Choctaw, Oklahoma, as the City’s next City Manager. Mr. Guest will assume the duties of City Manager on Monday, September 12, 2022.

Mr. Guest brings to Converse a wealth of experience and skill in management and government service. He served most recently as the City Manager of Choctaw, Oklahoma. Prior to service in Choctaw, Mr. Guest served as the City Manager of Carrizo Springs, Texas. From 2005 to 2007, he served the San Antonio Police Department as a Management Analyst for Research and Planning. He was then promoted to a position as Executive Management Assistant within the Office of the City Manager.

Mr. Guest served with the City of San Antonio from 2005 - 2014, in multiple departments, and also served with CPS Energy as a Community Relations Advocate and Contract Administrator as a member of the Community Engagement team from 2014 - 2020, prior to becoming a City Manager.

Mr. Guest holds Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Masters of Business Administration degrees. He is a candidate in 2022 for a Doctorate of Education in Organizational Leadership with an emphasis in Organizational Development.

During his nearly 18-year local government career, he has acquired broad experience demonstrating expertise in the areas of community partnership building, strategic planning, financial management, and budget preparation and administration. Mr. Guest’s ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations along with his knowledge of municipal laws and regulations make him well qualified to serve the City of Converse as its next City Manager.
