Weatherford Police Department issued the following announcement on July 25.
We are aware of planned assemblies tomorrow evening around the courthouse square by several different groups, including those from outside of Parker County. The Weatherford Police Department respects the rights of people to peaceably assemble. It is the policy of this department not to unreasonably interfere with, harass, intimidate or discriminate against persons engaged in the lawful exercise of their rights, while also preserving the peace, protecting life and preventing the destruction of property.
Along with our partners with the Parker County Sheriff's Office and the Texas Department of Public Safety, we will deploy a highly visible and concentrated presence of public safety personnel in the area to ensure the safety and protection of those assembled along with our citizens and businesses in the area.
