There were 132 students enrolled in Brazos River Charter School in the 2022-23 school year, 27.5% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 53.8% of them were boys, and 46.2% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were white, representing 70.5% of the Brazos River Charter School total enrollment.

Brazos River Charter School roughly covers schools within Somervell County with its main office in Nemo.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
